The master planning exercise highlighted and addressed the key issues facing The University of Auckland's Sector 200.
Vital design strategies and principles were developed to ensure that the objectives of the University of Auckland's strategic plan can be realised in a manner that increases the amenity and quality of the open spaces and built form.
Key issues included the following:
The master plan consists of seven projects; three landscape/infrastructural projects and four built projects.
The landscape projects include the re-configuration of the existing under-utilized Wynyard Street as a landscape creating a series of social spaces whilst the four built projects addressed issues such as connectivity between and within existing buildings, opportunities for refurbishment and additions and the potential for development in close proximity to a number of buildings with significant heritage and cultural value
