Kevin Carrucan

Kevin studied design and management in New Zealand at Carrington Technical Institute receiving his Diploma in Design and Management Certificate in 1985.

He has taught design at the Whitcliffe School of Art and Design, Auckland, has lectured at the Royal College of Art London, and acts as assistant tutor for the UTS/DAB School of Architecture.

Kevin joined Foster Associates in London in 1989 and was made an Associate in 1993. During the 14 years he worked at Foster and Partners Kevin was closely involved in the design and delivery of a number of significant projects; ranging in complexity from underground railways in Bilbao, to the design of a high speed ocean going motor yacht and the design of a new retail identity with flagship stores in New York and London. Kevin brings to Architectus expertise and a depth of experience in architecture, transport, infrastructure and industrial design. He has worked on a range of projects including rail transport, large bridge structures, retail, mixed-use, student housing, commercial, residential, and cultural and community buildings in addition to industrial design scale projects such as bus shelters and street lighting.

  • ANZ Centre, Docklands (Hassell) The largest single tenanted building in the southern hemisphere, designed to 6-star Green Star rating 85 400 m² NLA | $750m
  • Bilbao Metro, Spain (Foster & Partners) - 11 stations, including deep tunnel and cut-and-cover stations. Scope includes stations, surface entry enclosures, and styling of rolling stock
  • Epping to Chatswood Rail Link, Sydney (Hassell) - Rail infrastructure including new stations at North Ryde, Macquarie Park and Macquarie University
  • Sydney Olympic Park Station (Hassell) - Remodelling of Sulman Award winning station
  • NSW Maritime Ferry Wharf Structures, Sydney - Design competition
  • Katoomba Cultural Centre (Hassell) - Design of galleries and community spaces for Blue Mountains City Council
  • Darwin City Waterfront - (Bates Smart) - Master Plan for the TOGA Group, integrating residential and resort elements to the Darwin Waterfront
  • Millau Viaduct, France (Foster & Partners) - 2.5 km, 245 metre high motorway bridge for DOT & Public Works
  • University of Turin, Italy (Foster & Partners) - Design competition winner Economics and Law Faculty
