Sydney International Convention Exhibition and Entertainment Precinct

Sydney International Convention Exhibition and Entertainment Precinct

Architectus, in association with LMN and FJMT, formed the international design team tasked with delivering the convention, exhibition and entertainment centre facility design for VeNuSW.

Architectus was part of the VeNuSW consortium for the $2b redevelopment of the Sydney International Convention Exhibition and Entertainment Precinct (SICEEP). The VeNuSW consortium was one of three short-listed teams for this major infrastructure PPP.

At over 20 hectares in size the project represents the integration of urban design with new facility architecture which will regenerate and transform Darling Harbour into a modern and vibrant inner city hub.

SICEEP will be home to Sydney’s new world-class convention, exhibition and entertainment facilities and will enhance Sydney’s status as Australia’s global city.

Architectus, in association with LMN and FJMT, were tasked with delivering convention, exhibition and entertainment centre facility design.

The design approach balanced the needs to achieve exciting new facilities, and complex operational requirements, within a world class destination.

The convention, exhibition and entertainment centre facility designs respond to and utilise the harbour side site and majestic views. A new public realm was designed to provide improved public spaces and enhanced connections to the surrounding urban fabric.
