Ocean Beach Hotel

Ocean Beach Hotel

Exemplary planning types, innovative urban solutions and high environmental performance are the key elements of the design proposal for the OBH site. With a value of $130m the project is anticipated to deliver more than 100 high quality residential apartments as well as specialist retail, commercial and quality public domain. The site configuration maximises view opportunities from within the public and private spaces - the view is introduced deep into the site allowing the ocean aspect to be appreciated by both visitors and residents.

The creation of both an urban destination and a private oasis with a strong building edge definition to each street frontage reinforces the gateway role to the Cottesloe Beach precinct, and the character and amenity create a vital and exciting precinct for both residents and visitors.

Maximum benefit from passive solar design reduces energy consumption and operating costs. Reduced plan depths and attention to orientation ensured the maximum number of apartments receive winter sun, summer breezes, natural day-lighting and cross ventilation.

A rigorous structural strategy and vertical alignment allows consideration of a variety of construction methodologies and provides a high degree of flexibility with the residential planning.
