Liverpool River Connections

Liverpool River Connections

Architectus was engaged by Liverpool City Council to prepare a strategic master plan integrating the Liverpool City Centre and the Georges River Parkland. The River Connections project was one of five initiatives in the city centre revitalisation project: Building Our New City. The Strategy provides the opportunity to improve the connections of the City Centre to River; to enhance the presentation and arrival experience of the City Centre from Newbridge Road and to upgrade the usefulness and aesthetics of the riverfront parklands.

The Strategy identifies key projects and recommends short, medium and long term projects, which could be implemented over time as opportunities and funding arose. Each project included concept drawings supported by objectives and design principles.

A rigorous engagement process underpinned the project and included surveys and workshops with the broader community as well as workshops at each stage of the project with Council’s professional team, Councillors and key stakeholders.
