Liverpool City Centre Review

Liverpool City Centre Review

Architectus has reviewed Liverpool City Council’s City Centre Strategy, Local Environmental Plan, Development Control Plan and Civic Improvement Plan. As one of six Regional Cities within the Sydney Metropolitan Area, the proposals for Liverpool City Centre have local, regional and state significance.

A detailed review of existing conditions and the implications of the Metropolitan Strategy led to the creation of a strategic framework for the city centre to grow into a prosperous, vibrant and attractive centre for the surrounding sub-region. Detailed analysis of floorspace and built form potential, allied with market conditions and the existing planning framework enabled Architectus to formulate a structure able to accommodate and manage growth that supports both the existing character and the vision for a vibrant new riverfront city.

This robust urban structure was then the basis for detailed site testing and the drafting of LEP and DCP controls and guidelines to guide future development in the city centre.

The draft LEP, DCP and Urban Strategy was subsequently incorporated within the NSW Department of Planning’s widely awarded ‘6 Cities’ project.
