The Central Coast Regional Plan identifies Gosford as the primary centre for the region and identifies the neighbourhoods of Somersby, Mount Penang, Gosford and Erina as the ‘Southern Corridor’ – one of the two corridors that will accommodate the largest part of the regions employment and residential growth. But what does this mean for these centres, and what steps can Council take to support this strategy?

The area comprises thriving employment precincts, national parks rich with aboriginal history, world-class entertainment and sporting infrastructure, waterfront living and an emerging food and drinks scene.

Architectus worked with Council to identify key strategies for the Corridor including concentrating residential development in established centres, a rapid transit bus link, tourism strategies to not only get people to Gosford for events, but stay for the weekend, and public domain actions.
