456 Lonsdale Street Lobby, Macquarie Bank
The refurbishment of the lobby area at 456 Lonsdale Street was a strategic decision by Macquarie Bank to upgrade the public face and amenity of the building to secure long term tenants.
The project was small and complex in nature it required complete demolition of the existing ground floor lobby area whilst maintaining normal and after hours access to the building during the construction period.
The key feature of the refurbishment was cladding the existing building core with a new fibreous concrete panel system which provided a strong continuous dynamic from the external entry to the internal lift area.
The paneling system was articulated in a large stretcher bond pattern every second course being accentuated proud of the previous course to providing a third dimension and visual texture to the wall.
The entry area was enhanced with frameless glazing allowing a seamless continuation of the feature concrete paneled wall from external to internal areas. Additional features included new granite tiling to the extent of refurbishment, integrated audio visual tenancy directory board, inset carpet and feature lighting to the waiting area.
