115 Bathurst Street

115 Bathurst Street

Architectus’ proposal for the redevelopment of an existing office tower into a premium residential address seeks to provide a strong identifiable form that will make a positive addition to the Sydney skyline and relate to the streetscape at ground level.

Located at the heart of Sydney’s mid-town precinct, The Greenland Tower at 115 Bathurst Street will be the tallest residential building in Sydney. With excellent exposure to the east and west the building will have a significant impact on the profile of the city.

The design is based on the principles of a compact tower form, active ground plane, apartment flexibility and construction efficiency.

The expression of the primary structural elements, the ‘mega columns’, provide the visual framework for a robust singular expression at the scale of the city. The compact tower plan is highly efficient (up to 95%) and maximises views to the east and west.

The facade evolves from masonry, sandstone, bronze and copper at the base to stainless steel with gold highlights rising over the height of the tower. The overall effect lightens the facade as the height of the building rises.
