Brisbanes Cremorne Theatre re-opens after significant refurbishment

3 August 2017

Architectus is delighted to have contributed to the successful refurbishment of the Cremorne Theatre at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, South Bank. The Cremorne Theatre redesign reinforces the original `black-box’ theatre design, providing new flexible staging and seating systems which allows for numerous performance and audience configurations. Working closely with clients QPAC and Arts Properties & Facilities, Architectus, as architect and lead consultant, delivered the refurbishment within tight program and budget constraints.

After closing for a three month construction phase, the Cremorne re-opened to the public for performances on Friday evening. Prior to opening, QPAC client Bill Jessop kindly presented the refurbished Cremorne to the Architectus Brisbane team, as one of our regular Tuesday afternoon Design Share sessions.
